Naomi Campbell has spoken for the first time about the fact that she resorted to surrogacy.

The 54-year-old supermodel confirmed that both of her children were born with the help of a surrogate mother: “That’s true,” she said in an interview with The Times.

Since she had children, Naomi has tried not to say their names, reveal their birthdays, or post photos of them.

“My children are everything to me. It made me fear for the future,” Campbell added. “I hope for a better world for my children. They are 110 percent my priority. I got to be there for them on their first day of school.”

Naomi added that she was happy to be a "single mother," and noted that she was tired of "young girls" saying they don't want to have children, or that it's "too expensive." “I say, ‘You’ll change your mind. You will want to become a mother. I understand that from an economic point of view it is difficult, but my mother had nothing, and she managed. It's worth it."

Campbell is the first supermodel to be the subject of an exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, which opens on June 22.
