For the Sake of Weight Loss: The “Bible Diet” Becomes the Biggest Fitness Trend of Summer 2026

19:26, June 5

While Hollywood stars like Oprah Winfrey and Andy Cohen are losing weight with “Ozempic” injections, and followers of extreme restrictions survive on a few almonds a day, a very different trend is rapidly gaining popularity on social media. Thousands of people are shedding excess weight in the name of God, turning their bodies into sacred temples.

The “Bible Diet” has become the hottest wellness trend of summer 2026. It is a dietary system based exclusively on foods mentioned in the Old and New Testaments. Fast food, deep-fried foods, and refined sugar are strictly forbidden, with their consumption treated as a sin.

What Is Included in the “Divine Menu”?

The diet is based on organic, whole foods that people in biblical times are believed to have eaten. Followers strictly adhere to dietary rules described in the Book of Leviticus. Meat is limited to animals that have split hooves—such as beef, lamb, goat, and venison. Pork, camel, and hare are strictly prohibited.

As for seafood, followers eat only fish with fins and scales, completely excluding shellfish such as shrimp, oysters, and squid. Poultry is allowed in the form of domesticated birds like chicken and turkey, while meat from predators and scavengers—such as eagles, crows, owls, and seagulls—is strictly forbidden. The diet is complemented by vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, olive oil, raw milk, and honey, while all processed and ultra-processed foods are eliminated.

Minus 70 Kilograms and Chris Pratt’s “Blessing”

Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World star Chris Pratt once revealed that he lost nearly 30 kilograms thanks to the “Daniel fast,” a 21-day biblical diet consisting of water, vegetables, and grains.

For ordinary people, the results can be even more dramatic. Blogger Savana Willow reportedly lost 40 kilograms in nine months on the biblical diet, while user Lucy Alexandria shed an astonishing 72 kilograms simply by controlling portions and returning to traditional cooking principles.

Nutritionists note that the Bible diet is essentially a hybrid of the Mediterranean diet and the DASH plan (a heart- and brain-healthy eating regimen).

“Sin Entered the World Through Food”: Confessions of the Trend’s Leading Influencer

27-year-old Kayla Bundy, a former professional dancer from Los Angeles now living in Bali, has become the face of the biblical fitness movement. Her recipe videos attract more than 1.2 million views.

Eight years ago, Kayla gave up Starbucks frappuccinos, ice cream, and fast food. Today, her mornings begin with an empty stomach and a bowl of homemade bone broth, followed by eggs, sardines, beef with Greek yogurt, homemade sourdough bread, avocado, and lemongrass with mineral salt.

“Biblical eating is a return to what God created before the food industry imposed its rules on us,” Bundy told The Post. “I used to be on the verge of depression, training six hours a day, trying to eat ‘clean’ and still gaining weight. When I opened the Bible, I found more than 140 references to specific foods.”

Bundy is firmly against the idea of “cheat meals” (days when people break their diet).

“I don’t believe in cheat meals because it is not biblical. You cannot be a faithful spouse six days a week and then have a ‘cheat night’ on Saturday. Food infidelity is just as destructive to your spirit. Remember: sin entered the world through food when Adam and Eve were tempted by the serpent. Food is not the enemy—but the enemy uses it to manipulate us and distance us from God.”

According to Bundy, the “holy diet” has given her not only an ideal bikini body and clear skin but also inner freedom: “Yes, the weight is gone. But the biggest weight I lost was the burden of resentment, frustration, people-pleasing, and total control. That weighed on me more than any excess pounds.”
