Suri—the 20-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes—has officially dropped the surname of her estranged father, with whom she has long cut ties.

The college student changed her name from Suri Cruise to Suri Noelle, adopting her mother's middle name as her new last name.

Voter registration records obtained by The Daily Mail show that in October 2024, Suri registered to vote in Pennsylvania—where she attends Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh—under the name Suri Noelle.

Suri registered in Allegheny County but did not file a name-change application there. According to Page Six, which first broke the story, this indicates she likely completed the legal procedure in New York before leaving for college.

The 64-year-old Tom Cruise reportedly cut off all communication with his daughter many years ago, following his 2012 divorce from 47-year-old Katie Holmes and her decision to sever all ties with Scientology.

In doing so, Suri follows in the footsteps of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's children, four of whom have previously filed to drop their famous father's surname amid a protracted family conflict.

Before moving to Pennsylvania, Suri lived in New York with her mother, who was recently dating 39-year-old artist Jason Bard Yarmosky. In New York State, court records regarding legal name changes are typically sealed to protect personal privacy.

While the exact date of the legal paperwork remains unknown, Suri has been using the name Noelle publicly for a few years. Notably, she was listed under this name at her high school graduation in June 2024, as well as in the program for a school production of The Addams Family: A New Musical.

"To Her, Tom Does Not Exist"

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise married in 2006, and the actress filed for divorce in 2012. Holmes was granted sole custody, and Suri reportedly has had no contact with her father since around 2013.

Throughout these years, Suri lived under intense media scrutiny fueled by rumors of her fractured relationship with her superstar father.

In 2024, she celebrated her 18th birthday without Cruise, who has effectively been erased from his youngest daughter's life for years. The rift that opened during her parents' divorce has hardened into a impenetrable wall that Suri has no intention of breaking down.

As a source previously told The Daily Mail, her position is crystal clear: "Tom simply does not exist to her. Suri won't contact him, and even if he were to call, she wouldn't answer. Neither Katie nor Suri considers him part of their lives, and she has no desire to depend on him for anything. She feels she has one parent, and that is her mother."
