New York Fashion Week turned “hot” despite the February cold during the provocative show of Joel Alvarez, who calls himself the “King of Tape.”
Plump models strutted down the catwalk in their mother's clothes, their private parts barely covered by thin pieces of tape.
“In a world full of sheep, be the mighty dragon who roars fearlessly,” Alvarez wrote in an Instagram post celebrating his work with New York Fashion. Alvarez—creator of the Miami-based Black Tape Project—intricately applies sticky strips to curvy models' chests, hips, and thighs.
Fans of his work spent more than $999 on VIP passes, including backstage access. Walking down the bold runway, Alvarez admired the intricate patterns of black, neon green, iridescent, and pink details that perfectly accentuated the female figure.
