True love exists: Woman receives bouquet every Valentine's Day from husband who died 6 years ago

22:18, February 14

True love exists. And this is proven by the touching story of a California woman who receives a bouquet of flowers every year on Valentine's Day from her husband—who passed away several years ago.

John and Diana Maver met in high school when they were 16 years old. They eventually married, had three children, and lived happily together for 47 years until John died in October 2017. But their love story did not end there. It continued four months later when Diana discovered a bouquet of flowers on her doorstep on Valentine's Day 2018 from her late husband.

"Every year a bouquet of flowers from my father appears on her doorstep," the couple's daughter, Marilee Heard, told CNN. "I think this is one of the most romantic stories I've ever heard in my life."

The bouquet always consists of red roses and white lilies, which, according to Diana, symbolize the couple's love for each other.  The set also includes the same card that reads, “I only have one heart and it’s you. You will always be my Valentine." “When she receives flowers, you should see a smile on her face. She is filled with simply incredible joy. She just knows he’s there for her,” Marilee said. “True love exists. Love can exist through life and through death. My father is a real romantic."
