Pharrell Williams was forced to end his performance early at the Formula 1 post-race show in Saudi Arabia due to crowd behavior. The artist ended his performance 15 minutes early after audience members refused to stop throwing glow bracelets onto the stage.
“This is the busiest city on the planet right now, but we also have to be safe,” Farrell said. “I know you guys are excited and I know you want to throw your wrist gadgets and flashlights and everything, but you can’t because the girls are dancing. I love women, and you?...We have to protect our women, so you have to throw them in the other direction, and not on stage. Who understands what I'm talking about?
Unfortunately, the scattering of bracelets did not stop after Farrell's warning. "Let's take these stupid bracelets and throw them in the air right now when I count to three," he told the audience, adding before walking away, "Okay, I'll let you all finish." Pharrell was one of three headliners at the weekend celebration, along with Alicia Keys and Martin Garrix.
