What Karl Lagerfeld's luxury residential complex in Dubai will look like?

22:33, April 3

The first images of a luxury villa complex in Dubai that will bear the name of the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld have been released.

Inspired by 18th-century Paris, Lagerfield's villas combine traditional and modern architecture with the late designer's instantly recognizable design aesthetic.

The plan to build 51 luxury villas is a collaboration between the fashion house and Dubai developer Taraf.

This project will be the third residential complex under the Karl Lagerfeld brand in the world and the first in the Middle East. In 2021, the fashion house launched luxury residences in Marbella, Spain, and last year announced a hotel tower with signature residences in Malaysia.

The Dubai villas will be completed in the second quarter of 2027. “I am delighted to open the next chapter of Karl’s future legacy,” Karl Lagerfeld chief executive Pierpaolo Righi told The National. “This is an exciting moment for us because Dubai held a special place in Karl’s heart for one very simple reason: he was driven by the mantra of ‘embrace the present and invent the future.’”

Inspired by Lagerfeld's fascination with 18th-century Parisian architecture, the design reflects the elegance and modesty of the period. The five-, six-, and seven-bedroom villas are inspired by the façade of Karl Lagerfeld's headquarters in Paris, one of the late designer's favorite buildings.

The villas will range in size from 721 to 1,790 square meters, and their owners will be able to personalize their homes by choosing from two façade designs: Soft Modern, or Urban Modern.

Each home has a grand entrance, reminiscent of the charm of the 18th century building, leading residents to a spiral staircase that is a magnificent piece of architecture in itself. Each villa is equipped with a swimming pool and garden, as well as an office, open kitchen, dining area, and several bathrooms.

Also, residents will have exclusive access to a Parisian-style social clubhouse, which features meeting rooms, a library, swimming pool, sauna, gym, and lush green gardens.

The late designer and creative director of Chanel and Fendi had a passion for architecture. His love for creativity and design extended much further than just fashion, and this is what the brand promises to focus on in its residencies.

“This is an invitation to become part of the world of Karl Lagerfeld, who meant much more than just fashion,” added Righi.
