The second concert of our world-famous compatriot living in Spain and his band took place Monday at Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex. The first was in 2023, when the Armenian audience had the opportunity to see and feel the fiery energy of this musician with their own eyes.

The 55-year-old violinist regularly interrupted his sometimes dynamic, sometimes exciting performances with interesting stories seasoned with humor, immersing the audience in "alien" feelings and mood.

Malikian started the concert with Komitas' "Krunk," then the mood changed, combining both laughter and smiles... and lots of applause. In his speech, the artist thanked the audience for warmly welcoming him and promised that the concert will last "28 hours and 33 seconds".

"We are very excited, I am very happy to return to the homeland, to return to Yerevan, this executioner, and feel your maddening presence again."

The Lebanese Armenian artist communicated with the audience in Armenian throughout. "When we came to Armenia 7-8 months ago, I spoke quite ‘gesh’ [i.e. bad] Armenian, now I'm back, but it seems that I speak more gesh,’" Malikian noted with his characteristic humor.

Although he did not stay on stage for 28 hours and 33 seconds, the energy given by the artist will surely accompany the audience for that many hours and more.

On the stage with Malikian were musicians with whom the violinist has traveled a long way, performed on prestigious stages of the world: pianist Ivan "Melon" Lewis, double bass player Ivan Ruiz Machado, drummer Georvis Pico Melon, and guitarist Diane Abad.

At the end of the concert, the musician admitted that he received from the audience what he gave. "I would like to play for you for 58 hours instead of 28, but my body doesn't stretch," joked the musician, who dedicated the last piece of his concert to his homeland. "We need hope a lot, we need joy so that we, Armenians, live well. My words are not enough to express more..." said the musician, who was cheered up by the audience and sent off with loud applause and "bravos."
