The unexpected death of OnlyFans founder Leonid Radvinsky has opened the door for a potential major move by Hollywood players. Radvinsky passed away at 43 after a “long battle with cancer,” a struggle known only to his closest circle, according to Page Six.
Earlier in March, sources revealed that Radvinsky had been seriously ill and was actively seeking to sell the platform, which generated $1.4 billion in revenue in 2024 and hosted stars like Cardi B, Drea de Matteo, and Whitney Cummings. “He was desperate to arrange a sale because he worried his family might be treated unfairly,” an insider told reporters.
Originally known as a platform for adult content, OnlyFans has gradually evolved into a more mainstream service. Its fastest-growing categories now include comedy and sports, making it an increasingly attractive asset for traditional entertainment companies.
Rumors of a potential Scooter Braun acquisition circulated last year, though terms were never disclosed. Investment firm Forest Road reportedly negotiated a buyout for $8 billion — a sum comparable to what the Allison family spent acquiring Paramount. However, experts noted that Forest Road, a relatively small company, likely lacked the resources to complete such a deal.
Earlier this year, The Wall Street Journal reported that Bay Area-based Architect Capital was negotiating to acquire 60% of OnlyFans for $3.5 billion.
The line between Hollywood and tech has become increasingly blurred. For example, Larry Ellison, co-founder of Oracle, helped his son David Ellison outbid Netflix for Warner Bros. Discovery, leveraging AI to optimize the media giant’s operations. Ten years ago, discussions about Hollywood’s involvement with OnlyFans would have been considered taboo. Today, ignoring the platform would be unthinkable.
There are reports that Ari Emanuel explored investing in OnlyFans (a WME representative has denied these rumors). Still, given Endeavor’s private ownership and active role in the market, the timing could be ideal for a major Hollywood player like Emanuel, who has successfully invested in WWE and UFC to generate massive returns.
Meanwhile, top OnlyFans influencer Sophie Rain expressed condolences following Radvinsky’s passing, emphasizing the platform’s importance to millions of content creators.
Industry insiders note that OnlyFans’ potential in Hollywood has long been apparent — even the HBO series Entourage hinted at the profitability of adult content. “When Endeavor was founded, part of the strategy involved online music distribution technology,” an insider said. “That idea eventually evolved into the Entourage storyline about friends trying to break into the online adult industry.”
