Bozar, the Brussels restaurant led by Armenian-born chef Karen Torosyan, has been ranked 42nd in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026, the annual ranking compiled by a panel of hundreds of industry experts, including chefs, restaurant critics and food journalists.

The restaurant climbed an impressive 21 places from last year’s ranking, when it stood at No. 63. The achievement is particularly significant for Belgium’s culinary scene: Bozar was the country’s only restaurant to make this year’s top 50.
The results were announced at a ceremony in Lima, Peru, on November 4. Spain’s Asador Etxebarri took the top spot, followed by Bangkok’s Gaggan in second place and Copenhagen’s Alchemist in third. Bozar’s inclusion places the Brussels restaurant among the establishments shaping the global fine-dining scene and further strengthens the Belgian capital’s reputation as a culinary destination.
The 42nd-place ranking marks another milestone for the Bozar team. Earlier in 2026, the restaurant received 17.5 out of 20 in the Gault&Millau Belux guide, while Torosyan was named Chef of the Year. The restaurant has also retained the two Michelin stars it was awarded in 2023.
Following the announcement, Torosyan shared a post on Instagram thanking his team and paying special tribute to his wife and business partner, Nani Lee Torosyan.
“My greatest pride is not in the awards, but in what we have built together with my wife and partner, Nani Lee Torosyan. We have always championed a cuisine that honours craftsmanship, guided by dedication, discipline, knowledge, the pursuit of excellence, precision and perseverance. And we will continue in the same spirit, striving to become better every single day — together,” Torosyan wrote.
