The Dubai Mall, one of the emirate's most popular tourist attractions and shopping centers, is set to undergo a $408.4-million expansion.
According to Emaar, which manages this shopping center, the latter will feature 240 new luxury stores as well as food outlets.
“The new expansion of The Dubai Mall is a great addition to one of the most visited destinations in the world. We would like to thank our valued guests and loyal customers, as well as our partners, retailers and government agencies for their continued support. This expansion reflects Dubai’s ambitious vision to remain at the forefront of global innovation and culture, further strengthening our city’s position as a leading global destination,” said Emaar founder Mohamed Alabbar.
In 2023, The Dubai Mall became the most visited place on Earth, setting a new footfall record of 105 million visitors, up 19 percent on the previous year, coupled with exceptionally strong sales.
The Dubai Mall, the second largest shopping mall in the world, spans an impressive 1.2 million square meters and features over 1,200 retail outlets.
