The Russian project Kinky Party, which has been holding “sex parties” in Moscow for almost eight years, has announced the suspension of activities in Russia. This was reported in the project’s Telegram channel.
“We received a warning from government agencies that it is impossible to hold our parties in the previous format. Despite the fact that our events have always complied with the law and were aimed at creating a safe, respectful environment for free expression, we have received a warning that any events related to sex topics are not permitted,” the statement said, as quoted by RBC.
On February 17, the project was going to “celebrate” its eighth anniversary on a grand scale, but the event was cancelled. Kinky Party noted that they do not yet know whether the measure will be temporary or permanent. Its statement did not specify which authority issued the warning.
“Kinky Party is a sex-positive party with a theme, dress code, great music and a vibrant show program,” says the project’s website. The rules say that “everything is possible” at parties, but within the framework of Russian legislation. In particular, participants must ask permission if they wish to interact with other guests in any way; in response, you have the right to say “no,” and others should respect this right. Photo and video shooting is prohibited, and they are carried out only by the organizers. You need to comply with the dress code requirements—it must be “sexy, bright and aesthetic” and correspond to the theme of the party. Violent acts are against the rules of these parties, and there is a “kinky police” in place to ensure safety. Alcohol consumption is acceptable at these parties, but drugs are prohibited, and minors are not allowed to attend.
For now, the project will hold events in Georgia. The first Kinky Party took place in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi on February 3. It included, as at these parties in Moscow, such elements as a game to introduce guests to each other and a show program—burlesque, travesty, shibari, etc.
At the end of last year, a “naked party” for blogger Nastya Ivleeva was held in a Moscow club, in which numerous stars of Russian show business participated. After the party, however, a large-scale scandal broke out, and the concert of many artists, including Philip Kirkorov and Lolita, was cancelled.
